SBIFF CINEMA SOCIETY: www.sbfilmfestival.org/filmfest/cinsocietyhome.htm I wanted to let everyone know about this really great film club here in SB called Cinema Society. It is a membership club put on by the Film Festival. Every month they have at least one (usually more) private screening of either an independent film that you wouldn't be able to see here or often times it's a sneak preview as much as four weeks before the release date. The best part is they almost always have the filmmaker and/or cast attending and holding a Q&A afterwards. It does cost to join, but not that much. The prices are for a whole year and are $100 for students, $200 single membership and $325 for a couple. If you go to movies as often as I do, that pays for itself really fast and gets you to movies you would usually be able to see with talent that you definitely wouldn't see. Last year they previewed Lord of the Rings: Return of the King 4 weeks before it came out! I attached a list of upcoming screenings and talent below. Seriously, this is a deal. Go to website for more info. Schedule: August 21: VANITY FAIR w/Q&A by director Mira Nair August 22: WE DON'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE w/Q&A by actress Laura Dern September: AROUND THE BEND w/Q&A by director Jordan Roberts October: I HEART HUCKABEE'S w/Q&A by director David O.
