Fiscal Year 2006-07 Best Ever
The SB County Film Commission reported a countywide economic impact of
$20 million, with a ripple down effect of $51 million. Filming activity
rose by nearly $8 million from 2005-06, due to three big features. The
recently released There Will Be Blood, starring Daniel Day Lewis
and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, shot for three days on Jalama Road
in Lompoc. Other features were Quentin Tarentino's Death Proof,
Pirates of the Caribbean III, and Let's Go To Prison.

New 3D Cousteau Film
Francois and Jean-Jacques Mantello, and SB’s Jean-Michel Cousteau
joined forces on the new 3D film DOLPHINS AND WHALES 3D: Tribes of
the Ocean, which will be released at IMAX Theatres beginning February
15. The documentary offers a close encounter in 3D with small and giant

Jennie Reinish and Louise Palanker co-directed and produced the documentary

Third Year SBIFF Student
For the third year in a row Jody Nelson has a film in the “Student
