Moorpark May Become Little Hollywood
Commonwealth Studios, a proposed $125 million independent studio facility, is slated to break ground in Moorpark in April 2009. Mermaid Short Makes a Splash
I Heard the Mermaids Singing, produced by locals Victoria Charters and Karla Shelton, won the Silver Medal for Excellence in the short film category at the Park City Film Music Festival. A Location with a Mission
La Purisima State Historic Park recently celebrated the seventy-fifth anniversary of its restoration by the Civilian Conservation Corps. On selected Saturdays La Purisima takes you back to mission life in the 1800’s as costumed docents portray people who may have lived at the mission. Occasionally, you can try Chumash traditions including grinding acorns, making baskets and shell beads, building a tule house, or playing Chumash games. The next events are May 3 and 31.
